A KASHAN LUSTRE POTTERY BOWL
Central Iran, early 13th century
Of slightly rounded conical form on short foot, the interior painted over the translucent glaze with an enthroned figure on one side flanked by three attendants giving audience to another figure, indications of landscape in the background, in a border of stylised kufic inscriptions, the exterior with radiating panels of simple scrolling motifs, repaired, a couple of small areas of restoration
8 1/8in. (20.6cm.) diam.
