AN IZNIK POTTERY DISH
Ottoman Turkey, early 17th century
With sloping rim on short foot, the white interior painted with a central cypress tree flanked by rose and other floral sprays together with two saz leaves scrolling round to form a heart shape, in a stylised wave and scrolling motif border, the exterior with alternating blue motifs, retouched hair cracks and chips to red
12 1/8in. (30.8cm.) diam.
