Note:
Shen Yuan was a court painter of the Qianlong era, and collaborated with Tang Dai on many occasions to paint for the Qianlong emperor. Their joint effort of Arhats was inscribed by the Qianlong emperor, and in the ninth year of the Qianlong era (1744), they were commissioned to paint the Summer Palace.
