A RARE BRONZE FOOD VESSEL, DING
LATE SHANG DYNASTY, 12TH/11TH CENTURY BC

The tri-lobed deep bowl set on three legs and with squared loops set on the short everted lip, the body boldly cast with a well defined taotie on a leiwen ground flanked by pairs of descending dragons, cast with a four-character pictogram on the side of the interior, the exterior with extensive blackened inlay, the patina of mottled milky green tone (minor repair)
