THE CLASP AND CHAIN, HAN DYNASTY (206 BC - 220 AD)
The first pair of ornaments cast as bovine masks surmounted by a pair of confronted birds; the second pair cast as taotie with ribbed horns; the clasp cast as a pair of mirror-image tigers grasping double-headed snakes, attached by a pair of long chains formed by rings joined by double pierced waisted rings cast with leiwen design (losses)

Lot Essay
The bronze harness ornaments were acquired by the present owner in July 1974, and the clasp and chain were acquired in December 1978.
