Circa 1799
The drum shaped case surmounted by the figure of a negro huntress, in feather skirt and headress, with spear, bow and quiver, above the figure of a crocodile, in personification of the Continent of America, with white enamel Roman and Arabic dial, the twin train movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on a bell

Lot Essay

Several other designs in this series were produced by Jean Simon Deverberie, such as L'Afrique and 'Indien et Indienne enlaci'. (H. Ottomeyer/P.
