A Dutch Delft polychrome 'paniers fleuris' ribbed barber's bowl
1700-1725, marked D above 7 in overglaze red
(Scheerbekken) or Mambrino's helmet, of usual type, the light blue-ground reserved with shaped panels containing oblique flower-filled baskets, radiating around a central panel containing a larger two-handled flowerfilled basket, further divided by scrolls, the shaped edge outlined in brown, the reverse decorated with a stylised flowerbranch, pierced with two apertures for hanging
