Provenance
Sir Michael Nairn Bt, of Earlshall, near St Andrews, then to his daughter Mrs Arthur Purvis OBE, thence by descent. Mrs Arthur Purvis was head of the WVS in Scotland. Earlshall is one of the most famous of Sir Robert Lorimer's Scottish Castle Restorations.
