Possibly 15th Century
The waisted body with flaring moulded foot and rim, centred by a crest above two coats-of-arms, with the intertwined handles headed by hound masks, the pestle with ribbon-twist shaft, inscribed in white paint to the pestle and mortar R.B.K. 1954-25A/B

The coat-of-arms on the right has been identified as from the Von Steinwag family from Schwäbisch Hall (E. Meyer, Nürnberger Bronzen der Vor-Vischer-Zeit, in Eberhard Hansstaegl zum 75. Geburtstag, Munich 1961, p. 30, note 22, directing to Wappenbuch 1734, Bd. 5, nr. 255).
