Lot Essay

The course of transcendental meditation at Bangor University attended by The Beatles and Mick Jagger in August 1967 followed the group's first meeting with the Maharishi in London the evening before their departure to Wales on 25th August 1967. John Lennon was especially struck by his teaching, but eventually became disillusioned during a visit to the Maharishi's academy in Rishikesh in April, 1968.
