A GEORGE II CEDAR AND LABURNUM TEA-CADDY
Of unusual square form, the moulded hinged square top with acanthus-carved border and ribbon-tied foliate-pierced carrying-handle enclosing a green felt-lined interior with Chinese-Export pewter tea-caddy comprising a central square caddy and a caddy to each corner, elaborately decorated with trailing foliage, peonies and other flowers on a hatched ground and within its original liner, the central caddy with Chinese character marks to the underside, the C-scroll and acanthus escutcheon set within a crossbanded panel with moulded cut-corners above an acanthus-carved plinth base and on ogee bracket feet, with Norman Adams label to the underside
