A GEORGE III STYLE ENGRAVED AND POLISHED-STEEL BASKET-GRATE
19th Century
The arched rectangular cast-iron backplate with a stylised arabesque of an altar flanked by winged maidens offering a libation, the serpentine-fronted grate with urn finials and beaded borders flanked by engraved roundels, above a pierced fret apron with central swagged panel and on tapering engraved legs surmounted by further urn finials
