The balloon-shaped case lined with boxwood, with waisted pediment panelled to front and sides with pierced-brass floral trellis sound-frets and surmounted by a brass urn finial, the sides with brass handles, on moulded rectangular base raised on brass ogee bracket feet, with beaded brass bezel and brass slip to a white-painted Roman and Arabic convex dial, with crossed minute track, pierced-brass hands, the substantial five-pillar movement with circular plates, twin wire fusees with anchor escapement and strike on bell, the pendulum with fine calibration to a brass rod
