A silver-mounted lignum vitae cruet-stand containing five silver-mounted opaque-white glass bottles
Circa 1760-65, perhaps London, the central silver carrying-handle with lion rampant and maker's mark
Two mallet-shaped bottles named for 'Oil' and three baluster bottles named for 'Sugar', 'Pepper' and 'Mustard' within puce scroll cartouches above an enamelled loose bouquet including roses and a striped tulip, the reverses with honeysuckle and scattered flowersprays, contained in the revolving lignum-vitae lobed stand with a central turned carrying-handle, on a domed circular foot (damage to silver cover of pepper-pot and the cover of one oil-bottle)
The bottles from 5 5/8 in. (14.3 cm.) to 7¾ in. (18.8 cm.) high overall, the stand 11¾ in. (30 cm.) high overall (5)
