AN EARLY PARTHIAN PAINTED TERRACOTTA HORSE AND RIDER RHYTON
3RD-1ST CENTURY B.C.
The ovoid body surmounted by rider with legs astride, his arms forward clasping rim of vessel's cylindrical mouth, the rider wears rounded cap, with large staring eyes, the horse with flattened mane and large forelock, a small short nozzle between the forelegs, decorated with red painted lines of pendant triangles and cross motifs, repaired with some restoration
