AN AKKADIAN SHELL CYLINDER SEAL
CIRCA 2300-2200 B.C.
With the scene of the judgement of the bird-man, showing the seated water god, Enki, with a stream of water flowing from each shoulder, before him approach the bird-man, Anzu, flanked by two deities holding him captive, a star and crescent above; and a late Early Dynastic/Akkadian mottled grey stone cylinder seal with two scenes, two crossed lions each with a small horned animal, and a boat in which are two standing figures, a water-fowl to one side, rectangular cross-hatched object in the field above, circa 2400-2200 B.C.
