AN ETRUSCAN RED-FIGURE BELL KRATER
CIRCA 350-325 B.C.
Side A: Dionysiac scene, the central bearded figure of Dionysos standing with thyrsos in his hand, flanked by a seated nude youth and a maenad, a bearded satyr crouched below faces another seated, two bunches of grapes in the field above
Side B: a seated nude youth with himation over his shoulder, holding out a phiale, a duck at his feet, flanked by two standing himation clad youths
Elaborate palmettes beneath the handles, with encircling band of meander and saltire squares below, a laurel wreath below the rim, foot repaired
