For a similar example in the Britisch Museum with peach instead of peony, see Oriental Ceramic Society, Porcelain for Palaces: The Fashion for Japan in Europe, 1650-1750, London, 1990, p. 94. Another example has been sold at Christie's Amsterdam, 18 May 1994, lot 298.
The decoration of peach and finger citrus branches, symbolic for a happy and long life, is after a Chinese prototype. For a similar Chinese saucer dish without the V.O.C. monogram, compare The Dutch Interior Sale, at Christie's Amsterdam, 28 September 2000, lot 210. And for a Japanese example without monogram, see lot 395 from the Daendels Collection in this sale.
