Chenghua six character mark, early 18th Century
The octagonal sides painted to the exterior with a continuous shipping scene with various European and local trading vessels nearing a fortified harbour with high cliffs in the background, the inner roundel enclosing a medallion of similar ships surrounded by a leaf-shaped octagonal border, below a two-tier lappet band interrupted by maple leaves at the everted rim, base star crack
