Lot Essay

This rare gilt, silver and copper inlaid iron curtain adorned once the entrance of a sacred chapel (mgon.khang) where wrathful gods were worshipped. Such a chapel was only accessible for initiated monks. Especially the chain bounded naked yogi in the centre confirms the esoteric character of its use.
