a rare east javanese andesite figure of perhaps a divinised royal youth
circa 14th century
Seated with feet facing outwards and toes carved inwards, both principle hands clasped in meditation, the upper right holds akshamala and perhaps a flaming lingam, the other upper hand the parashu, wearing various garments, bejewelled, the face with almond-shaped eyes, mouth slightly open, elongated earlobes, tiara in front of a high conical shaped headdress decorated with tassels and ribbons and a head halo behind, traces of white lime
