The circular enamel dial with Roman and Arabic chapters signed Ferdinand Berthoud, Paris, the movement with anchor escapement, stamped 546, striking the hours and half hours on a bell with outside countwheel, contained in a rectangular ormolu-mounted red marble case, surmounted by an urn with berried laurel garlands, reverse lacking glazing to door
