Decorated in underglaze cobalt and red iron-oxide and gilt over a clear glaze with a continuous frieze of Buddhist lions and phoenixes among chrysanthemum stands in a fenced garden, the scenes punctuated by three large chrysanthemum heads, the shoulders painted with lappets of floral scroll, a geometric band of chrysanthemums and a stiff leaf around the necks, the foot decorated with a band of standing lappets; the domed covers decorated to match and surmounted with a gilt Buddhist lion finials, gilt-bronze mounts
