The carcase and boulle marquetry essentially 18th Century, extensive replacements to mounts
The domed case surmounted by the cast figure of Victory and the dial flanked by cast caryatids representing the Four Seasons on winged horse supports above a plinth centered by a lambrequin with toupie feet, the pedestal with a shaped rectangular top and tapering upper section inlaid with chandelles on a square plinth inlaid throughout with stylized strapwork and foliate arabesques and headed by caryatid masks on a plinth base, the base stamped three times 'SP', pierced metal grille to clock later, marquetry to floor and door to clock replaced
the clock: 47¼in. (120cm.) high, 21¼in. wide (54cm.) wide, 11¼in. (29cm.) deep; the pedestal 62in. (156cm.) high, 27¼in. (69cm.) wide, 13in. (34cm.) deep
