A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED MAHOGANY BUREAU PLAT,
Circa 1780, converted from a cylinder bureau
The later gilt-tooled leather-inset eared rectangular top over a frieze drawer flanked by two short drawers and a deep drawer enclosing a coffre fort, the reverse with conforming false drawers, the ends with writing slides, on four fluted tapering legs with beaded collars and sabots, bearing the spurious stamp G. IACOB
