The later rectangular plate within a cushion molded surround, inset with further slips, surmounted by an arched crest carved with C-scrolls and decorated overall with floral sprays and chinoiserie figures, refreshments to decoration, traces of previous fixing brackets to back, repairs to top of cresting and urn-finials to the cresting later

Lot Essay

The scarlet chinoiserie lacquer decorating this mirror frame is representative of Venetian early 18th Century production.
