The Herball or Generall Historie of Plantes ... very much enlarged and amended by Thomas Johnson, London: Adam Islip Joice Norton and Richard Whitakers, 1633. 2° (348 x 225mm). Engraved title, numerous woodcuts. (Lacking first and final blank, title trimmed and mounted and with closed tear, small wormhole affecting c. 35 leaves at the beginning, a few closed tears and stains, outer margin of some leaves waterstained, just affecting text, lower margin of 7A2 recto repaired, occasional light spotting.) Contemporary calf (rebacked, front cover and first 2 leaves detached). Provenance: Francis Edwards (bookseller's label on endpaper).
