Hand-coloured engraved map, 20 costumed figures in side borders, 9 town views in upper border, galleons, sea monsters and flying fish, Latin text on verso (lightly browned, a few spots), 407 x 550mm. Norwich 32: "This is one of the most decorative and popular of all the early maps of Africa."
