(A few short marginal tears or holes, occasional light spotting and thumbmarking.) Original pictorial cloth (rubbed and a little faded). FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY. On notepaper headed 'Expedition internationale du Haut-Congo' tipped-in on front endpaper and dated Sept. 11 1884 to Colonel Church: "My dear Colonel, do you care for the enclosed?
