Lot Essay

This model is believed to have been made for and used in the Gerry Anderson programme 'Space 1999', in the episode 'Voyager's Return' and to be the key model in that programme. The model was originally constructed by Martin Bower to a design by Brian Johnson, with additional functional detail put on under Nick Allder.

On completion of the show, the model was recovered by Martin Bower and given to the present owner in the early 1980s. The owner then produced engineering drawings of the model for use in an number of publications, the first being the American Starlog magazine. It was later given minor restoration by Martin Bower for an exhibition held in Bristol. The model was also exhibited in Warrington and Durham.
