An English silver gilt moulted flintlock pistol
Decorated for the Ottoman Market, circa 1820
the octagonal section barrel British proofed and damascened in gold with overall arabesques and floral designs, the phrase Ya Qasyat al-Haj below, the English lock also later gold damascened, the wooden stock with cast English silver-gilt mounts depicting military trophies, further inlaid probably in Turkey with scrolling floral motifs, the trigger-guard later -- 18 3/8in. (47cms) long, (slight damages), fitted case.
