Two Nishapur pottery bowls
10th century
one painted in brown pigment with a central line of kufic on a cream ground, the other with four radiating geometric pattern bands alternating with foliate motifs on a yellow ground -- 5 3/8in. (13.6cms) and 5¾in. (14.5cms) diam, (restoration and old wear); and a lustre ware pottery bowl decorated with four panels of linear design to the sides -- 5½in. (14cms) diam, 15th century, (chips and rubbing).
