Poety, Persian manuscript on paper, 64ff. with 15ll. of black nasta'liq in two columns, within finely illuminated gold margins, opening folio with illuminated heading preceded by illuminated shamsa, various library inscriptions, lacquer binding with floral panels and borders -- Folio 24½ x 16.3cm.

Lot Essay

A note at the beginning indicates that the manuscript was bought on Jumada I, AH 1039/17 December 1629 AD with the seal impression of the owner dated AH 1037/1627-8 AD.
Another note indicates the manuscript was given to an un-named person by Prince Tahmasp Mirza, the governor of Kerman in AH 1271/1854-5 AD.
