Poetry, Persian manuscript on paper, 100ff. with 13ll. of black nasta'liq in two columns, illuminated panels, two finely illuminated heading folios, opening, second and two later folios with illuminated floral outer margins and text within gold clouds, original lacquer binding with portrait medallions of ladies in European dress within gold floral meander, red lacquer doublures with gold scrolling flowers -- Folio 27.8 x 17.5cm.

Lot Essay

The added text includes a long preface, a short commentary in the middle and a long colophon. The parts of the colophon where the date and the name of the scribe should be, have been removed. Fath'ali Shah mentioned twice in the long preface.
