Lot Essay

Probably produced as a special exhibition piece, this model uses a larger cabinet than usually found on the 'English Execution'. One of the more marcabre models produced by Ahrens, Costa writes "through the medium of these machines we are witness to the nightmarish world of our childhood dreams when all the toys come to life and re-enact the larger drama our waking hours."

Christie's would like to thank Darren Hesketh for assistance in cataloguing these Lots.
