RARE A E DOR COGNAC
The following single-vintage cognacs were matured in oak casks for 50 years, before being transferred to 'dames-jeanne' to preserve the qualities of the spirits. As the casks were never refreshed, the strength of the cognac fell below the accepted 40 by volume but in 1951 A E Dor were granted a special and unique dispensation to sell the spirits as Cognac
The company was not permitted to use the original vintage designation and had to use brand names instead. However, company records state that the Reserve No 2, Sadi Carnot is from 1889 while the Reserve No 4, Napoléon III Empereur is from 1858.
