The porcelain circa 1750, the decoration perhaps later, the ormolu probably late Louis XV circa 1765-70
Modelled by Kaendler and Meyer as a moustachioed man wearing a conical straw hat, fur-lined sleeveless coat, green robes and yellow trousers, and companion wearing a similar hat, a fur-lined cape and blue robe, white dress and yellow slippers, both standing, he supports a shield, she holds a basket of fruit and a covered jar, on square bases, damages and restoration, the stepped footed mounts cast with a band of berried laurel leaves, the ormolu bases later lacquered

Lot Essay
The ormolu pedestals are designed in the Grecian (Gout) fashion of the 1760s with antique-stippled tablets flowered with Roman acanthus and with laurel-baguette torus mouldings.
