Lot Essay

Built by J.S. White in 1918, H.M.S. Trojan was one of a complement of fifty 'S' class destroyers built as part of the emergency war programme, whose design was derived from the Admiralty 'R' class boats. Displacing 1,075 tons, with a length of 227 feet and beam of 26.8 feet, she could carry her crew of ninety and make 36 knots. Handed over in 1936 to Ward in part payment for Majestic, she was broken up at Inverkeithing in the same year.
