A STATIC DISPLAY SCALE MODEL OF THE PRIVATEER FAIR AMERICAN (1780)
with masts, yars, rigging, carved figurehead, anchors, bitts, gratings, capstan, belfry, fourteen guns in stepped carriages, compass box, helm, companionway and other details. The planked hull with main wale, chain plates, deadeyes and rudder is finished with Venetian red bulwarks, white below the waterline and wax and mounted on a white display board -- 24 x 24in. (61 x 61cm.)
