A WELL-PRESENTED AND DETAILED 1:60 SCALE STATIC DISPLAY MODEL OF THE 12-GUN AUSTRIAN SAILING BRIG CAMÄLEON (1833) IN HER ARRANGEMENT OF 1858
modelled by J. Biggins with details including bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms and foot ropes, carved furled sails running and standing rigging with carved scale blocks, dolphin-striker, safety nets, carved fiddle-end prow with coat-of-arms, anchors with chains and hawse pipes, catheads, bitts, stove pipe, sail winch, belaying rails and pins, companionway, capstan, gratings, bilge pump, deck lights, ship's bell, two ship's boats with bottom boards, thwarts and oars swung out on davits, carved helm, covered stern boat, twelve carronades in slides and other details. The carved hull with chain plates and deadeyes, decorated stern and rudder with chains, is copper sheathed below the waterline and finished in black and white and mounted on two sets of three brass cannons secured to display base within wood bound glazed cover. Measurements overall -- 24½ x 31in. (62 x 79cm.)
