A Continental allegorical circular shallow bowl
Last quarter of the 19th century, blue crowned N mark
The centre moulded with Ceres holding a flaming torch and a sheaf of corn, surrounded by her attendants with ploughs, sickles and sheaves of corn, within a broad concave band moulded with gilt strapwork interwoven with bunches of fruit and flowers divided by four escutcheons with the Florentine gilt fleur-de-lys, between bands of gilt foliage scrolls and diaper ornament at the well and border, gilt band rim, the footrim pierced for suspension
13 5/8 in. (34.7 cm.) diam.
