Lot Essay

Edith Hamlin writes of this painting in a letter dated March 18, 1983 that accompanies the lot, "The painting is one of the several made during a 1907 stay in Tucson, where [Dixon] also completed four lunette murals for the Southern Pacific R.R. station there." An authentication written by Edith Hamlin is also affixed to the reverse.
