Works by Thomas Stringer are often mistakenly identified as being by Francis Stringer, perhaps because of the close stylistic resemblance to paintings by Francis Sartorius. Little is known about the working practices of Thomas Stringer, although several horse portraits, often containing figures have been recorded.
