A VERY FINE AND COMPACT CELLAR OF SOME TRUE VINOUS GEMS: INCLUDING '78 LA CHAPELLE, '82 LATOUR DOUBLE-MAGNUMS AND VEGA-SICILIA 1960

Property of a New York Gentleman

The following wines were all purchased from a superb cellar offered at Sotheby's a couple of years back. A cellar of outstanding provenance I have been assured by the vendor that all wines have been drinking superbly and are great in condition, one has only to look at the condition to see that. They have been stored since purchase in perfect temperature and humidity controlled conditions, 55 degrees and 70 humidity.

Château Latour--Vintage 1966
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Levels: seven bottom neck or better, one top and one upper shoulder, bin-soiled labels
Nicolas Selection
"The wine of the vintage, the 1966 Latour is a classic, old style Bordeaux that has required decades to become drinkable. A dark, opaque garnet color is followed by a fabulous nose of cedar, sweet leather, black fruits, prunes, and roasted walnuts, refreshing underlying acidity, sweet but noticeable tannin, and a spicy finish. This powerful, vigorous, immensely impressive, concentrated Latour has reached its plateau of maturity, where it will remain for another 10-20 years." Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, Issue 129
