A LOUIS XV GOLD SEALING-WAX CASE
Paris, 1750, with the discharge mark of Antoine Leschaudel 1744-1750, maker's mark rubbed including a 'C' as third and last letter
Slightly tapering étui of oval section, all over engine-turned with spiralling bands of short narrow horizontal flutes over narrow vertical flutes forming a zig-zag pattern, reeded slightly raised rims, the mushroom-shaped slightly domed cap centred by an ovolo, the matrix engraved with an acollé coat-of-arms with marquis's coronet above
