Slightly tapering polished gold étui of oval section, with engraved borders, the matted border bands chased with laurel and berry festoons and fluted circles containing flowerheads divided by the shaft, the domed cap topped by a foliate rosette, bright-cut raised rims, the matrix engraved with an impaled coat-of-arms with count's coronet and motto NON COEDIBUS EMPTA above and a laurel wreath around
