A young lady, facing left in pale blue dress with lace-bordered underdress with large white bow at corsage, her fair hair curled and upswept
oval, 2 7/8 in. (72 mm.) high, gold mount on the cover of a circular Louis XVI gold snuff-box enamelled in translucent gun-metal blue-grey on a guilloché vertical coin pattern, the box by Joseph-Etienne Blerzy (fl. 1768-1808), marked, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-Baptiste Fouache 1774-1780 and struck with inventory no. 505 (3 5/16 in. 84 mm. diam.)
