AN EROTIC PRUSSIAN ROCOCO GILT-METAL MOUNTED ENAMEL SNUFF-BOX WITH SECRET LID

Rectangular white enamel on copper box, the slightly domed cover painted with a scène galante, the four side walls and base with Rococo-beauties and foliage, the inside of the lid with a lady in pink dress and black fichu and matching tricorn hat holding a fan, reeded gilt-metal mounts with slightly raised thumbpiece, the lid with secret cover opening to display two erotic scenes, one depicting a gentleman servicing a lady on a red-upholstered chair, the other with a gentleman holding a pistol threatening another gentleman speedily dressing up whilst a lady seated on a bed waving and still lifting her skirt in order to expose herself to the spectator
