Octagonal box, the cover enamelled en plein with an octagonal miniature finely painted with a procession of an Oriental dignitary with his court through a mountainous landscape with river in the foreground, within a scrolling and foliate opaque white and translucent blue enamel border on a taille d'épargne polished gold band, the base identically framed and centred with a guilloché scalework pattern enclosing berries enamelled in translucent blue, the side panels identically enamelled and framed by white enamel bands and flanked by vertical blue enamelled rectangles with gold urns, the four corners enamelled in black and engraved with white and blue enamelled taille d'épargne musical trophies
