Lot Essay

Kriehuber executed the portraits of several members of the Pratobevera von Wiesborn family, mentioned in Wolfgang von Wurzbach, Kriehuber. Katalog seiner Portraitlithographien, I, Wien/Bad Bocklet/Zurich, 1955, p. 309, nos. 1718-1720, notably Dr Wilhelm Freiherr Pratobevera von Wiesborn (c.1810-1863) in 1863, possibly the father of the sitter of the present watercolour.
